The Sri Lanka Journal of Neurology (SLJoN) aims to facilitate sharing new evidence and promoting research in the field of neurology by providing a platform for publication to its members and all those engaged in different fields related to neurosciences.
Focus and Scope
The SLJoN is the official journal of the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists. It is an open access, peer-reviewed journal. The focus of SLJoN is to provide a platform for publication for all health professionals interested in Clinical Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neurosciences. The scope of the journal will include dissemination of new evidence, encouraging debate on current evidence and practice, exchange of ideas to promote good clinical practice and influence policy making related to health care in neurology and neurosciences. This platform invites publications from doctors, scientists, and students in medical and allied health sciences.
From its inaugural publication in 2012, it has been published annually. It is published as a printed copy. All articles are available for download from the weblink.
Open Access Policy
The SLJoN is an open access journal. All its articles are openly accessible free of charge immediately upon its publication, without any subscription charge or registration barrier, and they may be accessed freely from its archive. Articles may be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, searched, linked to the full texts or used for any other lawful purpose which is non-commercial, as long as appropriate citation and/or acknowledgement is made. The costs of publication, archiving as well as its editorial functions are borne by the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists.
The SLJoN accepts advertisements from organizations whose goals serve intellectual, academic, professional or cultural ends. The journal encourages academic publishers, and other independent publishers to provide sponsorship to the journal. Space could also be provided for advertising conferences, academic and professional events or any other advertising space needed for academic or professional organizations. Other academic journals, books or other announcements also could be displayed.
The advertisements will not have any connection to the contents of the journal. The advertisements are published before or after the scientific content. The journal has the right to refuse advertisements which are in violation of general ethical principles or guidelines related to medical advertising in Sri Lanka. Advertisements which have a direct or indirect link to the tobacco or alcohol industry will not be accepted.
If any products are accepted for advertisement, the journal does not endorse the quality or value of such products nor such claims made by the manufacturer.

Authors are given the opportunity to self-archive the published version (the final article) of the article on their own websites, in any repository, and can be made publicly accessible immediately after it has been published by the journal. The author may post his/her version only if acknowledgement is given to the original source of publication and a link is inserted to the published article of the Sri Lanka Journal Online (SLJOL) website. The link must be provided by inserting the DOI number of the article in the following sentence: “The final publication is available at SLJOL website and DOI is <DOI number>.
